endless summer

I feel like summer is slipping away from me and I'm helpless at stopping it. School starts in three weeks and I almost feel panic to pack in every ounce of summer we can. Don't get me wrong I am SOOO excited for the kids to start school and get back on a routine, but school means that it is fall which means winter is right around the corner. And that is just straight depressing :( I'm just not ready for that yet. I still want it to be HOT!!! at least for a little longer.

But we have been doing a good job of enjoying the SUN while we have it. Pool, park, zoo, Popsicles, and lots of ice cream cones. I think we need to move to a climate that is always summer Today we went to the zoo and Ethan got to feed Travis the giraffe. It was pretty cool. Mitch was hilarious today because he would point and say "whoa" to every animal he saw, then would wave and say "bye" as we walked away. He really loves animals and it is so fun to see how excited he gets.

Baby talk

Mitch "talks" all day long. He has fully joined the competition of "which child can be the loudest" and most days he is the winner. My favorite thing he is doing right now is "reading." I love watching him grab a book and babble on and on as if he were reading. And I finally got it on video. He also loves to play with cars. He litterally has either a book in his hands or two + cars at all times of the day. He is such a funny little guy.

Some of the words that he is saying right now are: Mom Mom Mom....(until he get's what he needs), Dadda, Hi, Bye (always with a wave), go go go, Ball

Crazy in Love

This week we celebrated 8 mostly wonderful years of wedded bliss! Awww
I made this picture for Scott and thought it was a very fitting way to express my love.

To celebrate we went to melt and stuffed ourselves with giant grilled cheese sandwiches, strolled through the park at dusk (which in Cleveland can be adventurous) and went to Home Depot for lawn care. Can't think of a better way to celebrate 8 years together.

Last weekend we ventured out in the sweltering heat to the adorable little town of Chagrin Falls. We got ice cream and then hiked down to the falls. These picture are for my dad who doesn't believe that waterfalls exist in Ohio. we told Ethan to just put his feet in river, which of course means that his whole body went in. Mitch was quite angry that we didn't let him put his whole body in as well.

The rest of our time lately has been spent here and here
We have been spending every day in the water and the kids and I couldn't be more happy about it. I don't want summer to end!!!

He wears his sunglasses at night.

Mitch's new obsession is Molly sunglasses. Every night after dinner he finds them and cry/SCREAMS until someone puts them on for him. Then he is instantly happy and his sad screams turn into HAPPY SCREAMS, while running around the house. When they fall of he comes to me screaming again, and so it continues all evening. He is a funny kid but I could do with out all the screaming.

MONSTERS

My Ethan turned SIX this week! We had a monster party and I guess it went well because Ethan told me that it was "the best birthday EVER!!!" His friends came over, we had pizza, games, pinata, and WAY too much sugar! But best of all was having Grandma at the party. I don't think I could've pulled it off without her.

grandma came :)

Grandma came for a visit and we have been busy partying all week. We spent a gorgeous day hiking around Penitentiary Glen, played at the park, went swimming, enjoyed the beach, and went to the ZOO. The best part of the week was having Grandma here to celebrate Ethan's birthday. She also watched the kids so Scott and I could go out on a date, and last night we all went to the Opera to see Scott's cousin preform. It was so fun having her here and the kids are already missing Grandma too much.

HaPpY ALMOST 4th of July

I feel like we have already celebrated the 4th!! It has been a party every night this weekend, but I'm just so happy that it is summer time so we wouldn't have it any other way. I'll work my way backward through the weekend.

Sunday

Molly in her special 4th of July dress made from an old skirt of mine. I love how this one turned out, it makes me want to turn all of my skirts into little girl dresses.

Saturday

We just went to a little spray park, but the kids loved it. Barbecue, then it was off to see fireworks with friends. I was worried that the fireworks would scare Mitch, but he loved them.

Now it's off to see more fireworks tonight and then beach all day tomorrow.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!

say BALL

Last week Mitch started saying BALL. So I'm sure you can imagine how cute it was to stick him in a giant ball pit and watch him go crazy.
We went to the science museum this week and ALL of my mini's had fun.

oh the possibilities...

I've seen so many online tutorials for repurposing clothes. It has been on my "to-do-list" of thing to try for probably 3 years now. Since the whole sewing thing is new to me I was hesitant, but I finally tried it and it turned out okay.

I took an old skirt of mine that never really fit and I never wear, and made this cute dress for Molly. She really loves the idea of using Mommy's clothes to make new clothes for her. So I went through all my clothes and now we have a pretty big stack of future dresses. Don't look to closely at it, but I think it turned out okay and she couldn't be more proud to have a dress "made" by mom.
