MaKeR - mOmMy

Tonight for dinner I was really ambitious and made good old Kraft Mac n' cheese. (I make this way too often for dinner, I call it the "On-call special") Anyways while we were eating E looked at me and said;
"You are a Maker-mom"
I was a little confused by this and asked him what he was talking about?
"You're a Maker-mommy, cause you are always making stuff."
Haha.... yep that sounds about right!
I love four year old logic

UTAH

So we just got back from another crazy/busy/fun week in UT. I should clarify... from my last post it sounded like we had awful flights but they were actually really good ( I just wanted to vent about the annoying lady that sat in front of me). The kids were as good as can be expected and we got bumped a few times which resulted in LOTs of vouchers for future flights :)

We flew out on Ethan's b-day and he thought it was so fun to fly to see cousins on his actual birthday. They even sang to him and gave him ice cream on the plane. After we landed we met up with all the cousins at Kangaroo Zoo.

We had a celebrity sighting at Kangaroo Zoo. That's Julianne Hough in the background. Molly just happened to be playing at the table next to her and I couldn't resist.

Later in the week we had a B-day party for E. We went swimming and then back to grandma's for dinner, pinata, an awesome race track cake, and presents. Ethan was so funny, he thanked everyone individually for getting him a present.... even before he had opened them.
Then it was on to the main event....
Dan and Heather's Wedding

Here is the whole Yeates Crew. We make a pretty big group these days. It was fun to have everyone together.

The rest of the trip was jam-packed with cousins, aunts, uncles, and straight up partying. The poor kids hardly ever slept and I think I only brushed their teeth once or twice the whole time. We had so much fun and Ethan DID NOT want to leave. When I was trying to get him into the car to go back to the airport he said "but MOM, I'm still playing"

Just some friendly advice....

Next time you fly on an airplane if you happen to get seated in front of a rambunctious 16mo. old that is really loud and kicks your seat constantly..... try to remember that the mother is probably doing everything she possibly can to keep the said child under control.
In no way should you ever turn around multiple times to give the mother a dirty look, nor should you say "there's a little too much kicking going on!" in a snotty tone.
If you can't control those actions and you do act in the described manner above, then under no circumstances should you try to be overly helpful to the mother and say how cute and how good the child was on the flight once the plane has landed. This will result in a pissed-off Mom to go with the sad crying kids!

I think she usually gets more on her than the ground ever sees, but chalk sure does taste good and it is so much fun to play with.

crazy woman

So right now I am so tired I need to go to bed, but I also feel pretty accomplished.
This is how my day went.....

Breakfast
Went to walmart
cleaned 2 bathrooms
sewed six curtains
painted a dresser
vacuumed the house (and the stairs)
Lunch
Costco
Grocery store
Swept and moped
cleaned basement
6 loads of laundry
played in the sprinklers
finally took a shower
made/ate/cleaned dinner
FHE
ate cookies
went for a walk
baths/stories/brush teeth
ran more errands
folded a mountain of laundry

I'm happy because I've never gotten so many things done in one day!! But judging by how tired I feel right now I don't think I'll be doing that again. gOoD NiGhT

the new digs

We've been in our new house for a week now and we are loving it!!!! It seems like it has been much loger than just a week, but the kids have been loving it and I'm glad everything is finally organized. I was amazed at how quickly it felt like home, but even the first day after we got all the basics in place I knew we were going to be happy here.

So my parents came out to help us with the move and let me just say...... They are AMAZING!!!! They got in last mon night, we packed the truck tues, and moved in to the new place on wed. Then they spent the next few days helping us get settled. My dad work pretty much every min he was here. Whether he was chasing the kids, scraping, sanding, screwing, hammering, painting, lifting, fixing, etc. He did about a years worth of projects in a few short days! Like I said amazing. And my mom as well. She is a master cleaner/organizer which was so great. We were basically all moved in by the end of the first day because she's so good at it.

we went to the zoo one last time before leaving. We are really going to miss that zoo!
Ethan really loves the new house. He loves having his own room and "his own bathroom" (that he shares with Molly) Last week I was asking him how he likes the new house and he said "Our new house is happy everyday we are here"

Last Friday before my parents left we went out to Kirtland to see all the church history sites. It is neat to live so close to where so many amazing things happened.

On Monday night Scott got Indians tickets from work and so he got to take Ethan to his first Major League baseball game. The kid loved it (even though he looks scared in the picture) We have been singing "take me out to the ball game" about a million times a day ever since.
