happy birthday Molly

Pure JOY about being 4
Her big day finally came and she couldn't have been happier. She has been counting down pretty much since Christmas so you could say she was a little more than excited that it was her birthday.

On Sat morning we had a "Pajama's and Pancakes" party. Her friends came over to play and have breakfast and it was really fun. Molly LOVES pj's but most of the ones in her drawer are hand-me-downs with basketballs and dinosaurs. So she got some new ones, special for her b-day, right before the party.

The night before her B-day I made a balloon wall on the outside of her door. She was definitely surprised when she opened her door. It was funny because she wasn't sure how she was going to get out of her room.Keeping with the breakfast theme I made her a giant "Donut" cake. She kept having us sing to her all day, it was pretty cute watch her face sparkle every time. She has already learned that it is the one day each year when she can have as much attention she wants. When we were sitting down to dinner she said "wait!! Before we say the prayer everyone is going to sing to me. Okay, on the count of three..." She got lots of fun presents and LOVES the doll bed from grandma B. She also got this little doctor kit and has been giving everyone in the family check-ups.

Her amazingly talented Grandma made her a box full of doll clothes and she has been changing Sleeping beauty and Rapunzel's outfits non-stop since

Here is Molly with "bunny Belle"

we took cupcakes to school today and I had some fun experimenting with rainbow swirl frosting. Mitch really likes the frosting.

Jan-February

I looked at my camera yesterday and realized that I haven't loaded pictures since we got back from UT in January and there were some funny pictures so I thought I would put them on here.

Ethan started playing basketball in Jan. and really likes it. He has fun running around, randomly throwing the basketball at the hoop, and getting all his energy out with his friends.

Mitch really likes going to Ethan's basketball games too. He is impossible to keep off the court though. he is always running out there trying to play with the big boys. He hates to be left out of ANYTHING! He wants to do everything he see the rest of us doing.... even the potty.
We are in no way potty training right now, (he's not even 2 yet) but every time he asks to sit on the potty I let him. Who knows maybe he will just potty-train himself like his sister did! A mother can dream right. (He looks so grown-up to me in all these pics.)

Mitch is a funny boy. He is starting to talk a lot more and is mostly happy all day long. He does get pretty mad when I don't give him what he wants and he can throw a tantrum with the best of them, but he is so happy and easy to please, that it doesn't happen very often. He loves to play catch, play with blocks or dinosaurs, and loves his cars. But he also LOVES to play with Molly's princesses, baby dolls, Barbies and even dress-up. Yesterday Molly's friends came over to play and Mitch, not wanting to be left out, played right along with them. One day he will hate me for taking this picture.

He also loves to wrestle and has gotten pretty good at tackling Ethan.

A few weeks ago we went swimming and the kids had a blast it was so fun. But now we all wish that it was summer so we could swim everyday.

These kids sure love their silly dad.

Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve

Molly and Mitch spent most of the night fighting over baby Jesus. Until it was time for new PJ's and then all was forgiven.Molly and Ethan wrote special notes to Santa. Well Molly told me what to write, but it's pretty hilarious, so I had to take a picture of it for memories sake. All ready for bed. They actually feel right to sleep this year. They were too exhausted to stay awake with excitement.

Christmas Morning

Mitch, who LOVES stuffed animals right now, was really scared of the Giant Tiger that Santa brought. Molly named him Bobo. All day whenever Mitch saw Bobo he would run away saying "NO Bobo." But by the end of the day (with a lot of convincing from the rest of the family) he decided that Bobo was okay and actually really comfortable.

favorite tradition

My favorite Christmas tradition is making/decorating/delivering sugar cookies. I have made these every Christmas for as long as I can remeber. But I'm pretty sure my best sugar cookie memories will be the ones with my little helpers.
