workin' for the weekend

So far this year Scott has had most weekends off. Which has been really nice for me and the kids, and we have been trying to take full advantage of it while we can.

Last weekend we went to the fair. Animals, fried food, tractors, and the big slide.... what could be better! My favorite part was the cute baby pigs that were cuddling, so cute.

This weekend we went to an Indians game with some friends. It was perfect cause the game went really quick (which is good for kids at a baseball game.) Also the Indians won, and there were fireworks after the game.
I'm hoping for a LONG fall with a lot more weekend fun!

the end of summer

We went to Utah to visit family for a week. It was way too short and we wish we could have stayed much longer. The kids had so much fun playing with ALL of their cousins, and we actually got to see them all. (Except poor Bella who was having surgery in Vegas)

Ethan said his favorite part was swimming. Molly was quite the little fish and was hardly out of the water. Mitch also tried swimming for the first time and was okay with it until he got splashed, then he was not very happy.

FISH LAKE with the SORENSEN'S
We spent a few day at fish lake at my Grandma's cabin. The weather was perfect, the lake was gorgeous, and the kids had fun playing together and exploring. We did a little fishing, went for a hike, kayaked on the lake, roasted marshmallows, played games, and had a really relaxing time.
Mitch's Blessing Day Mitch at 3 1/2 mo. I was glad that I could still squeeze him into his blessing outfit. It was nice that most of our family, from both sides, were there for the blessing. Mitch was a very happy boy of course.

All 17 of the Yeates cousins!!! It makes me sad that all these kids see each other all the time and my three are the only ones that live away :( Also Molly and her cousin Jocelyn in there matching dresses from Grandma Sorensen.

Scragg-a-muffin no more

Every morning for the past 6 months as I fix my little Molly's hair I say, "I really need to get your hair-cut!!!" Well today was the day. Finally!!! Oh I'm so Happy! It is so darling. I LOVE it, and so does she.

Molly was very excited to get her hair cut and pretty much giggled the whole way through. As a mom there is no better feeling then not having to coax your child into smiling for the camera. She was ALL smiles. I think the only part she didn't like was the blow-dryer because she thought it was too loud. But then she got a pink sucker for being so good and she was all smiles once again.

First hair cut and so stinkin' cute!

Have I mentioned how much I love this kid!! He has got to be the happiest baby to have ever lived. Even when he cries he is laughing :)

He was lucky to go on his first stroller ride the other day. Molly loved taking the "babies" on a walk. I still can't believe Mitch is already big enough to sit in the stroller. It somehow makes him look even more chunky and cute.

I love these pictures of my sweet girl. Especially because she is smiling and not screaming. I think the Popsicle mustache she has says it all. She is so friendly and literally talks to everyone we see. She always makes sure that who ever she is talking to knows that 1. She is a princess 2. Her name is Molly and 3. That Mitch is "our baby!!" I love my happy, social, opinionated girl!
Ethan has recently mastered riding a bike (except for the starting by himself part). He also LOVES to hang out with his Dad. When Scott is home Ethan is his shadow. He told me the other day that when he grows up he wants to be a doctor. Then he asked if Doctors can play football? I said sure and he said "then I want to be a Doctor that plays football."

HaPpY

Mitch is by far my happiest baby. Maybe because he gets so much extra attention from 1 and 2? All I know is that I LOVE that chubby smiley face.

Last week I saw a picture in TJMaxx that I thought would look perfect in molly's room but I didn't want to spend the money for it.....So I made this instead!!! And it didn't cost a thing!!
(My version)
The frame is one I got like 4 years ago and it has just been sitting in my basement waiting to be used. Then instead of buying wood, I pulled a piece of fake wood off the back of some junk furniture that was waiting by the curb for the trash-man, and cut it to fit the frame. Then I used paper, mod podge, rub-ons, jewels, and glitter (all of which I already had on-hand) And I recreated my own version of picture I had seen at TJMaxx (below is a picture of the picture) I love the way my picture turned out, and I love it even more since I was able to just use stuff I already had!

The following video will most likely, only be entertaining to Grandparents. The last 10 weeks have gone way too fast.

are you smarter than a 5 year old?

Today I had a funny conversation with Ethan.
He said;
"boys are better than girls!"

me: "Why do you say that?"

E: "cause boys are smarter and stronger."

me: "lots of girls are smarter than boys, and girls can be stronger too. Don't you think I'm smarter than Daddy?" :) haha

E: "well actually I'm smarter than you Mom."

So there you have it. He already thinks he is smarter than me. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen until he's a teenager? I guess this means I'm off the hook for helping with homework when school starts.

Yesterday was his last tee-ball game. It was a really fun season and he learned a lot. But by far the best part about tee-ball is playing in the dirt.

happy birthday ETHAN

Today I have a 5 year old!! How is that even possible? It sounds so cliche' but it really seems like he was just a little baby. Especially having Mitch around, (he looks so much like Ethan as a baby) takes me back to those days. Ethan is such a sweet, good-hearted boy, and I couldn't ask for a better helper. He is my right-hand man and helps me out with pretty much everything all day long. I love you buddy.

We had a fun party on Sat. Slip n' slide, 400 water balloons, cupcakes, and all of Ethan's friends. Scott was the main target for the water balloons, and when those were all gone the kids filled up cups of water to throw at him. It was a fun party.
He was pretty spoiled this year in the present category. He loves his new scooter, and has been riding it all day. I had fun making his soccer cake, even though it didn't turn out how I had planned it, I really like the end result. Mitch & Molly have enjoyed sharing all the birthday fun with Ethan today. He was very nice to let his sister open some presents and has been sharing all his toys.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY

somethings gotta give

So I must say that, to my surprise, having three kids has been a lot easier than I expected. That is not to say that I haven't had some moments where I've questioned my decision to ever have kids, because I have had those "moments" (always in relation to child #1 or #2) But all in all it has been a pretty smooth transition. But it does take me a lot longer to do things than it used to and sometimes I feel like there aren't enough hours in the day. So naturally with a new baby somethings have to take a backseat, like cleaning my house, or blogging. I have been working on this post for three days now, and I have decided that it's not worth trying to update more than once a month. So here is my monthly update.
Mitch is growing like a weed and just as sweet as ever. He is a good sleeper, a good eater, and loves to grunt. He makes the funniest noises and sometimes we think he sounds like a goat. I even love to hear his cry, it is so cute. He makes some pretty cute faces too. He usually has a serious look or a concerned look on his face when he is awake. Probably because he is always hearing his sisters high-pitched screams all day long. But whenever he first falls asleep he will start to smile. I wonder if he is thinking "finally some peace." Both Ethan and Molly have been great with him and love him so much. Actually we all love having him in our home and in our family.

Molly likes to makes sure he is never alone. Mitch always has a "friend" or two right by his side. She also likes to make sure he always has a blanket to cover his toes.
As for the other two we have just been trying to beat the heat with our backyard pool, hose, slip n' slide, and sprinklers. It's safe to say that if we are outside we are playing in water. On lucky days when Dad is home we usually hit the beach, which has become both Ethan and Molly's favorite thing to do. In the winter time I am always so thankful for our basement, but this summer we have loved it just as much since we are spending more time inside than usual.

The Pea Jungle

Scott has developed quite a green thumb this year and we have been loving our garden. Our peas climb higher and higher everyday and they are so good. (this picture was take over a week ago. The peas have almost grown as high as our garage.)

This picture is kinda blurry but I love it anyways. It has all my favorite people in it. I was a bad wife this year and didn't do anything special for Father's Day. But my kids are pretty lucky to have such a great Dad. He has been such a huge help the last few months with everything, and I want him to know that we love him so much.
