I have the best friends!!!!!!
I seriously have the best friends!!!!!!! Today my friends had a baby shower for me and it was so fun. I got so many cute, fun girl outfits and accessories that I am even more excited to have a girl now. We have never had so much pink at our house and I can't wait to get her all dressed up. I didn't think that I would get so excited about girl stuff but it really is more fun than the boy stuff. Thank you so much to everyone that came and especially those that planned it, I really appreciate it. Oh and not to leave anyone out... to all my out of state friends (you all know who you are) I love you girls too.

Stubborn must run in the family
Okay so Scott and are are trying to decide who carries the stubborn gene (most likely me) because we now have not only one stubborn child but will soon have TWO! Don't get me wrong Ethan is a very sweet, nice boy and I love him to pieces, but there is no denying he's got a stubborn streak and apparently his unborn sister has decided to follow in his footsteps.
On wed we found out that the baby was sitting breach so today we went to the hospital to try and have her flipped. I was told that it would be really painful so I mentally prepared for the worst. I'm glad I did because it's really not that bad, more uncomfortable than painful. There was a Doctor and a resident, one on each side. One took the head and the other took the butt and they basically pushed as hard as they could on the outside of my stomach to try and turn the baby. Think of it as like really deep tissue massage for your stomach. Anyways they tried three times to push her around into a head down position. They actually were able to turn the head all the way around to where it should be but unfortunately they couldn't get her to move the other half of her body. So she was basically being folded in half and wouldn't move her butt. It was frustrating because they were so close to successfully flipping her but she was just too stubborn to move her butt.
So now I have to have a c-section which I'm not thrilled about! But at least I have a week or so to get used to the idea. It really is not the c-section itself that I'm worried about, it's more the fact that I have to have one and don't have any say in the matter. I'm sure when the day comes it won't be a big deal, it's just not how I planned things and that is always frustrating to me. Anyways the good news is that both baby and I are very healthy and that is really all that matters. But everyone say a little prayer that she will decide to flip on her own during the next week.

Who says you have to be in Utah to go sledding?

Ohio is not exactly known for it's slopes, mainly because we don't have any. So with all the snow(20 inches) and all the extra time we had this weekend the neighbors decided to make a sledding ramp for the kids. It was the perfect size and actually pretty fast so the kids loved it! Ethan kept saying "I wanna go fast." We spent hours riding our man-made "mountain" it was so much fun. I'm sure it will get plenty of use tomorrow as well.

Snowed in
Well today is my b-day. That's right the big 26, and for my present we got completely snowed in!!! This is March people. I am in desperate need of spring. On Thursday it was actually pretty nice and we even played outside for a couple of hours but it was all a big tease because the snow started falling Friday morning and didn't stop until around 5:00 this evening.
This is a first for me, I have never been snowed in before, they even canceled church for tomorrow. Normally I wouldn't really complain about that, but for us it just means another day sitting around our house with nothing to do. At least today we got out and played a bit in the snow, which Ethan liked, but we literally have nothing to do. Hopefully mother nature just wanted winter to go out with a bang and this is the last of it? I am keeping my fingers crossed. As for the b-day plans, my hot date that I was really looking forward to has been put on hold. But my boys were very sweet and made me a delicious cake which I greatly appreciated.

Putting my belly to good use.....
Ethan has finally realized that my huge belly actually serves a purpose other than his baby sister, it is also a race track! Let's just say that once this new found track was discovered it has provided HOURS of fun (can you tell it's winter.) He now insists that I sit on the couch so the he can race his cars down the "mountain". Too bad for him in a few week it will HOPEFULLY be gone,
RIGHT????

Feelin' LUCKY!
I guess luck is something you can never have too much of. I made some LUCKY letters because like I said before I'm obsessed and I need a different set for each month. The Blocks at the bottom are from Feb. craft night. I love the way they turned out. The shamrocks are also from craft night but I decided to cover them with paper instead of painting. Thanks to Hayley for hosting such a fun night.

I LOVE this kid
Happy Valentine's Day to all. I thought I would share a picture of my favorite little boy. He is so sweet and fun to be around. It is amazing how much happiness he brings to my life. Even though at times he is frustrating, I LOVE spending everyday with him. (I also was able to get him to smile for the picture which is a first.)

Newport Aquarium
Scott had another interview this week in Cincinnati and with a free hotel room at the down town Marriott I couldn't resist tagging along. There is an aquarium right by where we stayed that I have been wanting to go to since we moved out here, so we finally went and had a really fun time. Ethan loved it! They have all kinds of fish, turtles, jellyfish, sting rays, penguins, snakes, alligators, otters, birds, and of course SHARKS. The sharks were our favorite part. They have this tunnel you walk through and the sharks swim all around. It is so neat to see them up close like that and the best part of the whole day was when we got to pet some sharks. We spent the majority of our time at the shark petting pool, Ethan couldn't get enough. He wasn't scared at all even when other kids started crying, he just wanted to keep touching them. It was hard to get him to leave cause he loved it so much.
The other highlight of the trip was of course the gap outlet, which is a must every time I'm in cinncy, and I scored some pretty good deals. It was a fun little get-away.
As far as a potty training update we are finally doing really well. I hope I don't jinx my-self again like I did last time I posted about it(we had a major relapse after my other potty training post.) Anyways if we make it the rest of today it will be a whole week accident free. HALLELUJAH!!!!! I feel like I have just accomplished something really hard like curing a disease or writing a novel. So hopefully I am not jinxing myself but it has been very difficult and it feels so good to finally be in a good place with the whole thing. Good job E, I am so proud of you!
