one tough cookie

So my little girl is pretty tough. She gets knocked down, pushed over, and tackled (never on purpose, of course, just caught in the cross-fire) by her wild brother pretty much all day and hardly ever makes a peep about it. Anyways the other day E was jumping all over the couches like a crazy man. I asked him several times to stop being so wild be he was having way too much fun to listen to me. In all of his fun M walked over to the couches just as he went flying and twisting through the air. She got a round-house kick to the head that sent her flying as well. I thought for sure she was going to start screaming. I was pretty shocked to see her pop right up and start playing again as if nothing happened. I wonder if she has just learned that stuff like this is normal?

I love to watch her waddle around the house all day. She has gotten so fast.

WARMTH

I know I talk about the weather a lot........but during an Ohio winter there is not much else to talk about. So anyways we have had a fabulous week of temps in the 50's and higher plus some SUNSHINE. It is so nice to breath fresh air that doesn't hurt your teeth and ice your lungs. E has gotten to ride his bike every day this week and M loves the outdoors too. If only it was here to stay! I have my fingers crossed, but I know there is still more winter to come :(
I'm just going to keep enjoying it while I can.

like brother like sister

April 2006February 2009 Just like her brother this gal is everywhere and into everything. She has even figured how to open some of the childproof locks I installed 3 years ago. Of course the Tupperware cupboard is the fav.

Here are some of her other favorite pass times
trying to figure out how to get cheerios OUT of the floor vent and into her mouth?

She loves books...especially the kind that rip. Too bad mom always takes those ones away.

She loves to play peek-a-boo. She will hide under blanket until I say the magic words.

there is BEAUTY

It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of winter. I'm a warm weather kind of girl and I'm pretty sure I always will be. (I usually begin the countdown to Spring as soon as Christmas is over.) But lately I've been trying to notice the beauty of the present, and although the freezing temps make it harder to recognize, it's there. Even though I wont shed a tear when the last bit of snow finally melts away, I know that without Winter I would not have such a great love and appreciation for Spring. It is such an amazing feeling to feel the warmth and see nature bloom again. I am still counting down the long days, but this year I'm just trying to feel a bit more positive.

she's a walkin'

My little lady has been so determined to learn this whole walking thing. She's been taking a step or two here and there over the last two months..... and I think she is finally getting the hang of it. She has been doing a whole lot of this the last two days. Is anyone else scared for me?

CHURROS

We made Churros for family night tonight and they were so easy and seriously delicious.
I just bought some Pillsbury crescent rolls, (I was going to get the Pillsbury Breadsticks but they were twice as much) I rolled them up, stretched and twisted* them, fried in some oil (sounds healthy right) until they are pretty brown, making sure they are cooked through, (this doesn't take long) and rolled them in cinnamon and sugar. It was so fast and easy and E LOVED them.
* When rolling the dough make sure that it's not too thick in one spot or they will be doughy inside.

All about the Hand-me-downs

After almost two weeks of temps in the negative region, it finally warmed up enough to play in the snow. When I say warmed up I mean by like 50 deg. Seriously it was -20 last week and today it was in the 30's. I NEVER ever thought I would say "it feels warm," while standing in 30 deg. weather....definitely a new first for me. Anyways E has been dying to get out and play in that snow and it really didn't feel cold today so we had fun and it was M's first time in the snow. She really liked it until she touched it with her bare hands....I think it freaked her out a little. Looking like a BOY with a pink Binky.
I really don't feel bad dressing her in Boy clothes, to be honest several items in her wardrobe were once worn by her brother, but girls can get away with it. I'm just glad it's not the other way around.

For craft night this month we made Snowman Kits.
Have you ever seen better hat hair than this?

Rump Shaka'

If she's not sleeping she's DANCING

Should I be worried that she can already booty shake like that? Usually babies dance by bouncing up and down to the music, but this girl really puts her back into it. I guess I shouldn't be that surprised, she does have some Colton blood in her.

BABY GOT BACK!

M is for Medicine

This little gal has had a rough month. Over the past 4-5 weeks she has had the Flu, a nasty cough(that has lasted for about 4 weeks now), two new teeth with at least one more on the way, a double ear infection......and then another ear infection 2 weeks later, she fell on a toy and cut up her lip (lots & lots of blood), SEVERAL fevers, and this morning she woke up like THIS!

The poor little thing is covered in them. So it was off to the doctors office AGAIN!

Even though she has been off and on sick for over a month now, she has still been such a happy, active, sweet, little ray of sunshine.
