Molly turned ONE today!
But the party started last night...
After dinner we sang happy birthday and ate cake. And Molly got her very own. I thought she was going to dive into it and devour, but she was very hesitant.
Maybe she got too full on mash potatoes at dinner or maybe because it was almost bed time? But whatever the reason she didn't really like the cake too much. She took a few small bites and then just started spitting it out.
Even though she wasn't that excited to eat the mountain of sugar in front of her she still had fun playing in it.

The party continues...
This morning she woke up to find pink balloons and presents.
We hurried and opened all the presents before Daddy left for work.
She loved all the new toys, especially the new baby dolls, but her favorite present was all that wrapping paper. Yum!
She loves pushing around her new stroller
I made her the little tu-tu and she loves wearing it and touching it. She thinks she is a little princess in it.

We had a lunch party with friends. We invited Molly's two best friends (and Mom's and Bro & sis) over to play eat lunch and have cupcakes. It was such a fun way to celebrate my little sweeties first Birthday.

Ethan was glad to have cupcakes and friends over too, because he was not too happy that Molly was having a birthday..... "I just want it to be my birthday" he told me in his best whinny voice. He also said that he was going to kick M's b-day out the door so that his b-day could come in.

Happy Birthday to my sweet angel baby!
This past year has gone so fast but it has been so wonderful. My little gal brings me so much happiness that it's hard to put into words. She is the sparkling sunshine in our home and I couldn't imagine my life without her.
I LOVE her smile, it is practically a permanent fixture to her sweet face.
Her laugh makes me laugh.
She has the cutest little walk (shuffle) and is perfectly happy to walk around the house laughing to herself ALL day.
She gives the best hugs. Seriously, she's like a little koala.
Adores her brother and doesn't mind when he knocks her down or steals her toys.

what we've been up to...

We have been staying busy lately. Swimming lessons, the Zoo, parks, playing outside with friends, and loving the gorgeous spring weather we've been having. I know, it sounds hard to have so much fun everyday... but we have to somehow make up for all the hours spent indoors this winter.
I LOVE SPRING!

DUNDEE

We went on a little weekend get-a-way to Dundee, MI. What you've never heard of it? Than you are missing out!!!! It's a little town on the border of Ohio and Michigan, exactly half way between our house and our cousins. So when both Dad's happened to have the same weekend off we jumped at the chance to spend some time together. Pretty much the only thing Dundee has to offer is an indoor water park that is attached to a hotel, (besides the Jerky outlet and Bob Evans of course.) Anyways we spent two days playing and swimming with cousins and it was a blast.

one tough cookie

So my little girl is pretty tough. She gets knocked down, pushed over, and tackled (never on purpose, of course, just caught in the cross-fire) by her wild brother pretty much all day and hardly ever makes a peep about it. Anyways the other day E was jumping all over the couches like a crazy man. I asked him several times to stop being so wild be he was having way too much fun to listen to me. In all of his fun M walked over to the couches just as he went flying and twisting through the air. She got a round-house kick to the head that sent her flying as well. I thought for sure she was going to start screaming. I was pretty shocked to see her pop right up and start playing again as if nothing happened. I wonder if she has just learned that stuff like this is normal?

I love to watch her waddle around the house all day. She has gotten so fast.

WARMTH

I know I talk about the weather a lot........but during an Ohio winter there is not much else to talk about. So anyways we have had a fabulous week of temps in the 50's and higher plus some SUNSHINE. It is so nice to breath fresh air that doesn't hurt your teeth and ice your lungs. E has gotten to ride his bike every day this week and M loves the outdoors too. If only it was here to stay! I have my fingers crossed, but I know there is still more winter to come :(
I'm just going to keep enjoying it while I can.

like brother like sister

April 2006February 2009 Just like her brother this gal is everywhere and into everything. She has even figured how to open some of the childproof locks I installed 3 years ago. Of course the Tupperware cupboard is the fav.

Here are some of her other favorite pass times
trying to figure out how to get cheerios OUT of the floor vent and into her mouth?

She loves books...especially the kind that rip. Too bad mom always takes those ones away.

She loves to play peek-a-boo. She will hide under blanket until I say the magic words.

there is BEAUTY

It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of winter. I'm a warm weather kind of girl and I'm pretty sure I always will be. (I usually begin the countdown to Spring as soon as Christmas is over.) But lately I've been trying to notice the beauty of the present, and although the freezing temps make it harder to recognize, it's there. Even though I wont shed a tear when the last bit of snow finally melts away, I know that without Winter I would not have such a great love and appreciation for Spring. It is such an amazing feeling to feel the warmth and see nature bloom again. I am still counting down the long days, but this year I'm just trying to feel a bit more positive.
