sweet baby

I remember Ethan being such a good little baby and when Molly was born I was surprised that she was even easier. Well so far Mitch is by far the sweetest. He is such a good little baby and it has been so nice and peaceful to have him around to snuggle with. He is just a perfect little angel and we are all so in love with him.

Cute Brothers

Ethan has been such a good big brother and loves to hold "baby" (he keeps saying that he can never remember his name so he's just going to call him baby) Both Ethan and Molly are so happy that he is finally here and home so they can hold him all the time and tickle his toes. Molly loves the little bro too and will be a really good helper once things get a little more routine.

Mitch is a sweet baby and actually smiles quite a bit, (usually from the gas.) I have been trying to capture it but am never quick enough. This is the closest I've been able to get.
On a side note
molly has sensitive skin and gets crazy rashes sometimes and is ALWAYS clawing at her skin. So tonight Scott decided she should wear socks to bed and she thought it was pretty funny. We'll see if she can keep them on and if it will help?

my sunshine

We finally got Molly a "big girl" bed and she absolutely LOVES it. I was nervous that she wouldn't want to stay in it and we would have a week of long nights. But she actually loves it so much that she doesn't want to get out in the morning. She also loves her new-found freedom to put every toy and book in bed with her to sleep. I spent most of the week painting her "new" room Yellow. I say new because we moved her into the room that used to be Ethan's. It is a lot smaller than the room she was in before and I wanted the boys to have more space. Ethan is excited about the switch cause now he gets to share a room with his soon to be baby brother. So it's win-win for all!!!I didn't take a "before" picture, so this will have to do. Above is what the room used to look like and below is the After. It was a lot of painting to cover up all that blue with a light yellow but I LOVE the way it turned out!!!!! And it's sooo nice to have it done before baby. We haven't finished the Boys room yet so I will have to post about that later.

Happy Easter Eh

We had such a wonderful Easter weekend in Canada...... Niagara Falls to be exact. Not only was the weather gorgeous, but we got to spend it with some family. Scott's parents flew in on fri morning and that night we drove up to Niagara to meet up with his brother Todd & fam. We enjoyed being outside in the beautiful weather and seeing the "big waterfalls." Molly especially loved seeing the falls at night. She said to Scott..."Oh Dad! It's BEAUTIFUL!"

The kids also LOVED playing with their cousins! They had fun jumping on the hotel beds, going swimming, and of course, since it was Easter, we had a hotel room Easter egg hunt. And it was a good thing that I left a note for the Easter bunny because he found us all the way in Canada.

Two old

"Happy Birthday to Molly" is what my little lady has been singing to her self for the last few weeks. She has had quite a lot of anticipation for her big day. Over the last few weeks whenever anyone would ask how old she is going to be she would say "TWO MONTHS." We finally convinced her a few days ago to say "TWO YEARS OLD." But that became too long so now it's just "TWO OLD." It is funny to us that she is just now turning 2. It seems like she should at least be 2 1/2 or 3 by now by the way she acts. But that is how she has been her whole life..... in such a rush to grow up.

Daddy has to work all weekend so we started the festivities early. Last night after dinner we had a family party and opened up all her presents and had cake. Her favorite thing by far was the backpack she got. She put it on last night and hasn't taken it off since. She was a pro at opening her presents, but had to get every tiny scrap of paper off each thing before even looking at it to see what the present was.

All she wanted for her birthday was a pink cake. So to make it fun she got a pink butterfly cake, which she loved.... especially all the M&M's.
Today we had some friends come over for a lunch party. It was fun to have two days of partying.
Molly at Two
*She loves anything and everything pink and princess and of course all things baby.
*She is becoming quite the story teller and loves to make up silly stories about kitties, and bears, and every story has to have a "big scary wolf" in it.
*She is very independent and has her mind set on being able to do everything her big brother can do. I feel like I've hardly had to teach her anything cause she just figures things out on her own. This has been pretty great, especially when she potty trained herself a few months ago.
*She is so smart and we are constantly amazed by the things she says, does, and knows.
*She loves books and tries to "read" just like Ethan. She is happy to sit and look at books for hours and her favorite ones always have Monsters, or Wolfs in them.
*She loves music. Loves to sing and dance. Her favorite songs to sing are "Families can be together forever." and "I love to see the temple."
*She is just a ball of energy, very spunky, and with lots of personality. We have always thought of her as our little sunshine because that is the best way to describe her personality.
I love you Molly... Happy Birthday!

We need a new time-out spot

In our house the only realistic option for a time-out spot is on the basement stairs. They have served their purpose fairly well for the last 8 month that we have been in this house. Well today while sitting on time-out Molly fell down the stairs. You can see from the picture below that our stairs are not soft by any means. Actually they have metal edges on them.... ouch!! Molly is always so careful and good with the stairs so I never once foresaw this happening.
I didn't see her fall but my guess (by what it sounded like) is she was attempting to crawl down head first "spider-man style" like her older brother has been doing lately. Since she has to do everything she sees him do, I'm convinced that her curiosity was the root of this accident. Thankfully Dad got home from work a little early today and was able to make a few calls and then take her in to get stitched up.
Scott said she was pretty upset when they tried to stitch her up so they gave her some meds to relax her. By the time she got home she wasn't sad anymore but was acting pretty strange. She was walking like a drunk person and saying some pretty funny stuff. At one point she was putting her french fries to bed (giving kisses and saying nite-nite), then she would point to her leg and say "what's that?", then look at me and say "oh I love you mama.", then point back to her leg and laugh. It was pretty funny to see her so "out of it" and loopy.

UGH..... But I still feel so sick over it!! I can't stop thinking what if...... What if it would have been much worse, because it so easily could have been! So I guess I am also feeling really thankful and blessed that two stitches and some bruising is all the damage!!! So we will no longer be using the basement stairs for time-out. I guess I'll just have to let them continue to run wild for the rest of winter without consequence..... but that is much better than a trip to the ER.

I realize that I should have posted about this a while ago, but I'm so big that I keep forgetting all you long distance friends haven't heard yet. I've been "meaning" to do it since Christmas, so here it is, finally!!!! Sometimes I feel like my poor little kid is already being neglected. I guess that's what you get with #3. Anyways, despite the late announcement, we are VERY excited to be having another BOY in May. (Ethan especially) I'm going on 28 weeks and I'm already counting down the days until this little guy comes! But I think that is mostly because I want winter to be OVER with already! Bring on spring!!!! We have no idea what we are going to name the little guy? Right now our leading options are; peanut, pickle, & green anaconda...... so suggestions are welcome. :)

sun BEEP

Molly loves to sing. She makes up funny song all day long and is getting pretty good at singing some real songs. Her favorite songs to sing are the ones that she has made-up. Her "made-up" songs are always based on her favorite book at the moment. Right now that is "Elliot gets stuck."

She has also decided to self potty-train. Which, if it works, would be fabulous. But I'm not pushing her into anything just yet..... I figure we can wait a few more months until she is two to get really serious about it.

Dr. Molly

I was going through some stuff this week and found one of Ethan's past Halloween costumes. So I thought I'd put it in with all the other random dress-up stuff (My mom made this cute doctor outfit two years ago.) It has now become Molly's outfit of choice, and has even replaced Batman Ballerina (see picture below). She likes to call them her "daddy pants," and I'm sure it's only a matter of days before she becomes Dr. Molly Ballerina since her tutu is always a must. Oh and if you can't tell by the picture, her favorite bear-bear has a little doctor costume on as well.

Molly loves to dress-up. She is constantly changing clothes throughout the day, putting on hats and sunglasses, accessorizing with purses, and her absolute favorite, shoes!!! She likes moms high heels the best, but Ethan's snow boots come in a close 2nd.

Yesterday Ethan got in trouble over something silly (I already can't remember what it was.) But he became pretty grumpy and when I asked him about it he said...
"I'm never going to be happy ever again, until you let me do whatever I want!"
I said "okay you let me know how that goes." About 5 min later he said...
"I'm tired of being upset, but I still want you to let me do whatever I want, and if you don't listen then I'll be really mad again!!"
I'm wondering if this means that since I don't have to tell him what to do any more that I can take a vacation from motherhood?
